Tests for UK Visas, British Citizenship, Leave to Remain

Secure English Language Tests

Trinity provides Home Office approved Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) across the UK. These tests are approved for applications to UKVI for visas, British Citizenship and Leave to Remain:

  • Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) - A1, A2 and B1 tests
  • Integrated Skills in English (ISE) - B1, B2 and C1 tests

There are ten Trinity SELT centres in the UK, providing exam sessions throughout the week. You can prepare for a Trinity SELT at one of these course providers.

Which test do I need?

Trinity GESE and ISE tests are available for the following UK visa categories. Click on the links shown below for further information, guidance and preparation materials.

  • Note: UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires non-EEA nationals to pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in speaking and listening at level A2 after 2.5 years in the UK, in order to qualify for further leave to remain on the five-year partner or parent route to settlement.
