Theory Diplomas

Trinity’s music theory diplomas focus on theoretical and analytical concepts and procedures, requiring extensive knowledge of music history in the Western classical tradition.

Levels offered

  • Associate (AMusTCL): equivalent in standard to the first year of an undergraduate degree
  • Licentiate (LMusTCL): equivalent in standard to the final year of an undergraduate degree

Set work extension

In response to the situation created by COVID-19, Trinity has extended the validity of the current set works for AMusTCL and LMusTCL. In the February 2021 and May 2021 sessions candidates will be able to answer questions on either the current set works or the set works listed for 2021 onwards.
