In Australia, most tertiary institutions recognize Trinity grades and diplomas as awards assisting applicants to gain entry. Many universities now provide additional bonus points for entry upon successful completion of Trinity diplomas.
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Trinity is recognised by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual), the Welsh Assembly Government and Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA), Australia, has confirmed that all Trinity music and performing arts qualifications above Grade 4 (and Level 2 and Level 3 for Acting for Screen qualifications) now contribute credits towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
On 1 June 2022, the QCAA confirmed a list of Trinity music and performing arts qualifications as acceptable for credit on the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). The QCE is Queensland's senior secondary schooling qualification that provides evidence of senior schooling achievements. This recognition of Trinity qualifications applies to all schools in the Australian State of Queensland and is valid until 2027.
The South Australian Certificate of Education Board of South Australia have confirmed recognition of Trinity College London practical musical examinations from Grade 5-8. Worth 10 credits towards the ‘Area of Community Performance’, ‘Performing’, Trinity music exams may be used to meet the requirements of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). Trinity has held this recognition since January 2003, and has provided countless students the opportunity to use their music personal development towards their senior schooling qualifications. The Western Australian School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) have confirmed recognition of Trinity College London Music and Drama qualifications. Trinity’s Music Performance Grade 5 & 6 and Drama and Speech Grades 5-8 may be used to provide units towards the Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE), the senior school completion certificate. Trinity qualifications may be used by students in application to UNSW Sydney who wish to apply for special consideration under the Elite Athletes, Performer and Leaders (EAPL) Adjustment Factors program. The program recognises achivement in sport, academic pursuits, music, and leadership. A Trinity Grade 8 with Distinction or ATCL with Pass will provide 1 point. A Trinity ATCL with Distinction will provide 2 points. A Trinity LTCL with Pass will provide 4 points. A Trinity LTCL with Distinction will provide 5 points. Students may submit their certificate from their highest level of achievement in each instrument or area.
