We are delighted to nominate our son, Thomas, for the Trinity College London Hall of Fame in recognition of his exceptional achievement in piano performance.

Earlier this month, Thomas - who recently turned 11 - was awarded a Distinction in his Grade 8 Piano exam, with a score of 95 out of 100. It is an accomplishment of which we are hugely proud since it recognises both his natural musical talent and his hard work. This is particularly notable given that his State Primary school in Lewisham, whilst supportive, does not have any specialist music provision.

For his exam, Thomas performed works by Chopin, Mozart and Granados. His ability to interpret and deliver each piece with precision, confidence, musical insight, and refined dynamic control was noted in the examiner’s feedback. His success is the result of a genuine passion for music, and an insatiable curiosity for new repertoire. Thomas approaches his musical studies with maturity beyond his years, regularly exploring recordings, interpretations, and technique with a self-driven desire to improve.

Beyond exams, he contributes actively to the wider musical community, regularly performing at school events and concerts, as well being an enthusiastic member of the Temple Church Choir. He is also a composer and has performed his own work in a previous Trinity College London exam.

We believe Thomas exemplifies the criteria for the Hall of Fame.
