I am delighted to nominate my student, Charlotte, for the Trinity Class of 2025 Hall of Fame.

For her Grade 6 Communication Skills examination, which involves presenting an idea for a business enterprise, Charlotte's chosen concept, BrightEyes, is both innovative and personal. Designed to support neurodiverse children, she has conceived a pair of glasses that look completely ordinary but discreetly include a speaker, screen, and camera to help students navigate the classroom with confidence.

Charlotte’s understanding of neurodiversity is informed by her own experience with dyslexia. In her presentation, she speaks openly and passionately about the challenges she faced in her early school years and how these experiences have shaped her outlook. Rather than seeing dyslexia as a limitation, Lottie has turned it into a source of strength, creating a product that could make a real difference for others.

She expresses this beautifully in her own words:

“When we do not support neurodivergent students, we don't just limit their potential; we limit society's potential. Every child whose talents are overlooked represents a scientist, an innovator, a leader lost to a system that wasn't built for them. But we have the power to change this.”

Charlotte's commitment to Trinity examinations is long-standing. She began her journey in Junior School by completing her Grade 1 Speech and Drama examination, and has progressed through the grades with enthusiasm and determination. I have had the privilege of teaching her since she took her Grade 3 exam, when she delivered a powerful monologue from Jane Eyre - an intense, emotional piece which required shouting and throwing a book! I see the same passion in Charlotte now as I did back then; she is determined, resilient and committed to her Trinity classes.

In short, Charlotte exemplifies creativity, perseverance, and purpose. She has embraced her neurodivergence and used it to inspire ideas that could transform the educational experience for countless children. I sincerely hope that one day her BrightEyes concept becomes a reality, as it has the potential to make a significant impact.
