Discover GESE: new features and guidance

Page contents

Thank you for your interest in Trinity's Graded Examinations in Spoken English.

Watch our webinar recording below where we will guide you through GESE's new features and show how the exam can help distinguish your centre.

What you will learn:

  • The refreshed syllabus and new formats
  • The key commercial advantages of offering GESE at your institution
  • Our support package, including teaching and marketing resources for your school

Whether you’re exploring the option or already on board, this session will walk you through the underlying principles of the 2-skill exam and the reasons for the updates.

From January 2026, candidates can take the GESE they know and trust for everyday communication and visa purposes, or choose from two tailored pathways to better reflect where and how they use English:

  • GESE for school – Designed for children and young people, with topics and prompts that reflect school life, helping learners communicate confidently in class, with friends, and in learning.
  • GESE for work – Focused on practical workplace communication, helping learners prepare for interviews, teamwork, and career success.

With this evolution, GESE continues to deliver the same trusted format and assessment approach - now with added personalisation to make the experience even more practical and inspiring for learners of all ages
