New Strings syllabus for 2016 available now

2 Jul 2015

Our new 2016-2019 Strings syllabus is available to download now.

The new syllabus features brand new repertoire lists for violin, viola and harp, and updated repertoire lists for all other instruments covering a wide range of styles and genres.

New technical work includes newly commissioned studies at Grades 1-5 and newly selected orchestral extracts at Grades 6-8 for all bowed strings, as well as refreshed scales and arpeggios requirements for all instruments.

You can also order a range of new supporting publications from our online store, including new repertoire books for violin and new technical work books for violin, viola, cello and double bass. The new repertoire books contain a wide range of pieces encompassing a variety of styles and periods, and the new technical work books for contain all the scales, arpeggios, exercises and studies featured in the technical work section of the exam.

A one year overlap arrangement is in place for the Strings syllabus, so candidates may perform repertoire and technical work from the current syllabus until the end of 2016.
