A flexible, modern approach to music exams

Trusted by music teachers worldwide for 150+ years

For over 150 years, Trinity College London has inspired musicians worldwide through innovative, inclusive, and high-quality music education. As a globally recognised exam board and awarding organisation, we are committed to empowering teachers and students with a broad and exciting portfolio of qualifications. Whether you manage a music department or teach individual lessons, Trinity provides the tools, resources, and flexibility to help you – and crucially your students – achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

Our music qualifications are designed to address the needs of modern music education by fostering creativity, inclusivity, and excellence. With pathways for all ages, abilities, and ambitions, we make music education a transformative experience.

”Over the years, I’ve had excellent communication with Trinity. Whenever we needed support, their response was immediate.”

“What shows to me that they are focusing around the student is that the student who has the ability and the preference to write their own music, they can perform that for an exam as well, which is amazing.”

Popi Charitaki, Director and piano teacher
Armonia Music & Arts

“The whole set-up is very user-friendly, with a great team at Trinity helping any new exam centres get to grips, helping every step of the way.”

David Green, Founder and drum teacher

Entering candidates for Trinity exams: flexible options to suit you

Register with us as a private centre

If you are planning on entering regular groups of candidates for music exams, getting registered as a private centre could be a good option for you. The exams will be hosted at your venue, and you will be in control of the timetable, date and running of the exam session. There is no charge to become a private centre with us.

Once registered you will receive a dedicated Trinity contact who will help you with delivering and entering for exams. Our Support team also provides you with ongoing syllabus and teaching support through regular webinars and useful blogs.

Go digital

If you have a smaller number of candidates, want to go fully digital with your exams, and want full control over managing your exam entries then you can register as a digital only centre. Digital exams are available across our grades, diplomas and theory, and offer convenience and flexibility to candidates, whilst maintaining the same academic rigor in assessment.

There are no venue requirements and no minimum fee to meet. You can also benefit from commissions on bookings, an opportunity to join our affiliate scheme as well as access to a 33% discount on Trinity music books with our distributor Faber.

Enter via a public centre

A network of experienced, friendly Trinity Representatives helps run our Public Exam Centres across the UK and Ireland, hosting exam sessions in a variety of venues.

They enjoy working closely with teachers and candidates to provide a smooth experience and are on hand to help you with bookings, queries and much more.
