Webinar details

This webinar explores the design and delivery of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses, drawing on the experience of teaching professional footballers as a practical case study.

It examines how ESP differs from general English, the importance of needs analysis, and effective approaches to sourcing, adapting, and creating relevant materials.

The session also considers the role learners play in shaping course content, whether subject-matter expertise is necessary for ESP teachers, and how feedback can be used to evaluate and improve courses. Additional topics include learner motivation, flexible scheduling, homework practices, target language needs, and key lessons learned from working in elite sports environments.
