Topic: Technology and Innovation | How generative AI tools can support English language teachers in personalising and adapting materials
Presenter: Fajarudin Akbar
In this interactive workshop, participants will explore how generative AI tools can support English language teachers in personalizing and adapting materials for diverse learner needs.
The session will begin with a brief overview of how AI is shaping the future of ELT, followed by live demonstrations of practical applications, including generating level-appropriate texts, customizing tasks for specific purposes like Business English or English for Specific Purposes, and creating prompts for speaking and writing activities. Participants will have the opportunity to try these tools on their own devices and collaborate in designing classroom-ready materials.
The workshop also addresses key considerations such as digital literacy, responsible AI use, and maintaining teacher agency. By the end of the session, educators will feel more confident in using AI to enhance engagement, streamline preparation, and create more inclusive and learner-centered experiences.
