Sir James MacMillan and Dame Evelyn Glennie inspire young musicians in East Ayrshire

Trinity was proud to be providing its ongoing support to Sir James MacMillan and The Cumnock Tryst as they hosted a very special one-off event featuring Dame Evelyn Glennie and Sir James and a range of young musicians from across East Ayrshire.

Taking place at the stunning location of Dumfries House, the young musicians were treated to workshops and improvisation sessions with Sir James and Dame Evelyn. The young people then had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform what they had learned in an evening concert, alongside the two inspirational musicians and composers.

We are looking forward to seeing the positive results that such an event will create for the young people involved who were both thrilled and inspired by the amazing experience.

As part of the event Sir James also announced the programme for this year’s Cumnock Tryst festival.
