UK Government Chevening Scholarship scheme recognises Trinity’s Integrated Skills in English (ISE) qualification

3 Aug 2016

Students applying to study in the UK as part of the Chevening Scholarship awards scheme can now use Trinity College London’s ISE II qualification as evidence of their English proficiency.

ISE II is at proficiency level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Recipients of the Chevening Scholarship award, which is funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), are selected by British Embassies and Commissions throughout the world. The scheme offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers and decision-makers around the globe to develop professionally and academically through postgraduate studies in the UK.

The selection process for Chevening awards is rigorous, and acceptance of Trinity’s ISE II as evidence of language proficiency demonstrates Trinity’s international reputation as a trusted awarding body.

Jonathan Frank, qualifications recognition manager at Trinity said:

‘Universities in the UK accept Trinity’s ISE qualifications as evidence of English language for study at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. The higher education sector recognises Trinity’s ISE as a contemporary suite of qualifications that assesses a candidate’s ability to interact in English in an authentic and meaningful way through the use of integrated reading and writing tasks, and integrated speaking and listening tasks. Preparing for ISE builds English language skills for real-life and supports the development of transferable skills required for higher education studies and employability – making them ideal for Chevening and higher education scholars alike.’
