Trinity Rocks Alexandra Palace

13 Dec 2017

Over 200 students from in and around Haringey in North London had the opportunity to experience life as a rock star when they headed to London’s iconic Alexandra Palace last week.

Alexandra Palace was the latest stop for the #TrinityOnTour band who are giving students and teachers the opportunity to meet and play alongside real session musicians. The tour introduces students to the new Trinity Rock & Pop 2018 graded exam syllabus through live performances supported by individual instrument workshops, where students get hands on with drums, bass, keyboards, guitar and vocals.

London Live, a 24-hour news and entertainment TV channel for London were also there to capture the excitement of the event and to talk with some of the students taking part.

Toby Davies, who heads Trinity College London’s Rock & Pop division in the UK & Ireland said: ‘It was our biggest show to date and everyone really pulled together to make it an engaging and memorable musical experience for all the children that attended. By engaging children through our Rock & Pop syllabus, Trinity College London makes music relevant and encourages the desire to learn, perform and excel – skills that they will use throughout their lives. Let’s keep on rockin’ and let’s keep music in our schools alive!’.

The band’s next stops are to Dublin on 27 January, Belfast on 29 January and Ballymena on 30 January. Register your interest at: trinityontour.com
