Trinity participates as Gold Sponsor at 2015 IATEFL Conference

16 Apr 2015

Trinity was pleased to be a Gold Sponsor of this year’s International Association of Teachers of English Language (IATEFL) Conference, held for the first time at the Manchester Central Conference Centre, in the UK, from 11 – 14 April.

Attended by over 2,000 people from all over the world, this year saw high numbers of delegates from Turkey, Spain, Germany, China and the Americas in addition to the UK. With representation from over 136 IATEFL-affiliated teaching associations, the conference, exhibition and networking events provided an excellent forum for delegates to find out more about Trinity’s TESOL and ESOL qualifications.

Speaking at a dinner for IATEFL Associates during the four day event, Trinity’s Henry Tolley, Head of Business Development, UK and Ireland, said, ‘Given our recent appointment by the UK Government to deliver Secure English Language Tests and the launch of our revised and updated Integrated Skills in English (ISE) qualification, Trinity wanted to raise our profile this year and make sure delegates had the opportunity to meet our academic team.’

Trinity also sponsors a number of IATEFL Academic Scholarships, enabling the scholarship winners to attend and present papers at the annual conference. This year’s winning scholars were Alexey Korenev, from Lomonosov Moscow State University, who presented a paper on ‘Teachers’ target language and the ESP of language teaching’, and Saeede Haghi from the University of Warwick, who presented a paper on the use of visual stimuli in listening tests.
