Music learners in New Zealand who have achieved eligible Trinity College London Rock & Pop or Classical & Jazz graded qualifications may now be able to gain credits towards the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA).
Through a separate credit recognition process managed by Let’s Go Music, candidates can apply to have evidence of their Trinity achievements recognised against selected NCEA achievement standards. This provides an additional way for their musical achievements to support their educational progression.
The recognition process covers five NCEA achievement standards across Levels 1, 2 and 3. Minimum Trinity examination requirements range from Grade 3 to Grade 6, depending on the standard. Candidates must meet the relevant eligibility criteria and provide supporting evidence.
Let’s Go Music reviews this evidence against the applicable NCEA recognition requirements under its NZQA consent to assess and reports successful outcomes to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). Any additional evidence requested is solely for NCEA credit recognition.
Trinity College London’s music qualifications remain independently awarded, complete and final. These qualifications are not NZQA-approved. The recognition process does not reassess Trinity examinations or change candidates’ Trinity results.
