Trinity College London to attend the House of Commons to champion music education

11 Sep 2025

We're proud to be a part of a crucial conversation!

Trinity College London is delighted to be sponsoring an important event, taking place on 15 September at the House of Commons, that will provide a spotlight on the role of Music Hubs. Hosted by MP Anna Sabine, the event will bring together over 40 Music Hubs from across England and more than 40 MPs, who’ll be joined by Francesca Christmas, Trinity’s Director of Music and Director of Publishing for Trinity College London Press, and Nik Preston, Trinity’s Chief Business Development Officer and Managing Director of Trinity College London Press.

The discussion will focus on the vital role Music Hubs play in their constituencies, ensuring children and young people from all backgrounds can access high-quality music education. It will also address the significant challenges they face with regards to funding and consider what action is needed to secure their future.

Adding inspiration and a personal perspective, saxophonist Jess Gillam MBE will join talented young musicians from Future Talent to share their own experiences of music education, as well as perform during the event. Our sponsorship of this event reflects our longstanding commitment to supporting Music Hubs, as we recognise the important role they play in providing inclusive music education across the country.

We are looking forward to joining our respected partners from Music Mark, the ISM and Future Talent for this essential discussion, in a collective effort to champion the future of music education in the UK.
