21 Aug 2025

Music educators from across the Sultanate came together in August at the Classic Music & Arts Institute in Muscat, Oman for a dynamic and insightful Teachers’ Meeting, featuring an exclusive update from Trinity College London.

The highlight of the event was a live online session delivered by a Senior Examiner from Trinity, who presented the latest updates on music examination frameworks, assessment criteria and effective strategies for student preparation. Adding a strategic dimension to the discussion Alex Thorpe, Head of Centrally Coordinated Markets at Trinity, shared insights into the institution’s evolving role in global music education.

This exclusive gathering provided a valuable platform for music teachers across Oman to directly engage with Trinity representatives, exchange ideas and strengthen professional networks. Attendees from prominent music centres — including Big Beatz, Anzu Music, Royal Conservatory of Music & Arts, Harmony Music & Art Training Institute and a range of private educators — expressed their appreciation for the session's clarity, relevance and practical application in guiding students toward international music certification.

Organisers underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between educational institutions and teachers to further enhance the quality of music education in Oman.

The event concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with participants reaffirming their commitment to deepening partnerships between Trinity College London, local educators and music institutions nationwide.
