Trinity College London announces FoELT 2025: a decade of global ELT innovation

22 Aug 2025

Trinity College London is proud to announce the 10th annual Future of English Language Teaching (FoELT) conference, taking place Saturday, 4 October 2025. This free, fully online event will bring together thousands of English language teaching (ELT) professionals from around the world to explore the innovations, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of the field.

FoELT has become a global hub for ELT thought leadership, drawing educators, trainers, academic managers, school owners, researchers and examiners into a shared space for professional growth and exchange.

This year’s conference will feature four specialist strands:

  1. Teacher Education – practical insights for training and developing teachers.
  2. Technology & Innovation – exploring AI, digital tools and the evolving classroom.
  3. Young Learners – strategies and approaches for engaging the next generation.
  4. ESP/EAP – English for specific and academic purposes in a changing global context.

Attendees can join live or access recordings on-demand, ensuring flexibility for professionals across time zones.

The event is free and open to all, but registration is essential - see details below.

"For 10 years, FoELT has been providing opportunities for English language teaching professionals to share their experience and research, showcasing innovations and bringing fresh insight into learning, teaching and assessment. In FoELT’s milestone 10th year, we’re proud to once again freely offer this world-class development to educators everywhere, helping empower them to shape the future of ELT"

Dr Benjamin Beaumont, Head of English Language Teacher Strategy & Publishing
