Operational issues – examples (not exhaustive) may include:

  • Missing submission information form
  • Missing supporting documentation
  • Submission uploaded to incorrect account
  • Video is non-continuous
  • Video is saved in wrong file format
  • Video has poor sound quality
  • Video uses pre/post-production techniques

The examiner will begin assessing the materials within two weeks of upload. If an operational issue is identified by the examiner which prevents the exam from being assessed, the status on the account will change to ‘referred’. This may take up to 30 working days (6 weeks) to resolve from that point.

Academic issues – syllabus infringements following assessment. Examples of these can be found on the Music Syllabus Infringements page.

The examiner will begin assessing the performance but may need to refer to Trinity’s post-results department at any time within the two-week marking period which follows upload (and/or after an operational issue that has been identified, is resolved). Once the submission has been referred for syllabus infringement, it may then take up to a further 30 working days (6 weeks) to process and release the results back to the centre. During this time, the status on the account will be set to ‘referred’.

Please note that for digital entries where there are both operational issues and syllabus infringements, these may be subject to a longer timeframe to resolve.

Expected delay

Face-to-Face graded exam

Referrals for syllabus infringements. Examples of these can be found on the Music Syllabus Infringements page.

The examiner will make an initial assessment but may need to refer to Trinity’s post-results department within a week of the exam. Once referred, it may then take up to a further 30 working days (6 weeks) to process and release the results back to the centre.

Face-to-Face Diploma exam

Referrals for syllabus infringements. Examples of these can be found on the Music Syllabus Infringements page.

The examiner will make an initial assessment but the performance may be referred to Trinity’s post-results department at any time during the eight-week period following the exam. Once referred, it may then take up to a further 30 working days (6 weeks) to process and release the results back to the centre.

*Applicants are responsible for familiarising themselves with all digital exam requirements and for ensuring that their submission complies with these requirements.

In the event that a submission does not comply with these requirements, the applicant may be requested to amend their submission, and the exam will not be assessed during this time. In the case of missing documentation, the exam may not be assessed until the required documents have been added and, should it be the case that the recording does not meet the requirements for the exam entered, the exam may not be assessed until a new recording has been submitted. An exam entry will only be considered as submitted once the applicant has satisfied all the requirements for exam entry.

In all cases, Trinity will endeavour to contact candidates promptly to notify them of the reason(s) their exam does not meet the requirements. However, should multiple issues be identified within a single submission, these may take an extended time period to resolve.

Trinity cannot accept responsibility for delays that occur due to multiple applicant errors.
