Statement on Ukraine

8 Mar 2022

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is devastating. The Trinity community condemns it. Our concerns are now for all those facing this dangerous situation in Ukraine, as well as for those in Russia and Belarus who are protesting against the invasion and taking personal risks in so doing.

You will know that many governments have imposed sanctions on Russia and Belarus, and at Trinity we have decided to suspend collaboration with Russian and Belarusian entities that have any connection to us while we await further developments.

We are all witnessing the extraordinary Ukrainian response to the invasion. We are consulting internally within our Trinity staff community for ways in which we may be able to offer support as an organisation.

Trinity Staff who are either directly or indirectly affected by this situation have been offered channels for advice and support. Anyone working or travelling on behalf of Trinity College London has access to International SOS via web portal or app, which offers security, travel and medical assistance, plus regular updates on the situation in Ukraine.
