Trinity College London becomes a Full Member of ALTE

22 Apr 2010

Trinity College London is pleased to announce that it is now a Full Member of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).

ALTE is a worldwide association of providers of foreign language examinations founded in 1990. It provides leadership in the field of language assessment globally.

Trinity College London is only the second English language examinations board to gain full membership of ALTE. In achieving this status, Trinity College London can provide candidates with further reassurance that their English language examinations meet the highest standards in terms of test development, task and item writing, test administration, marking and grading, reporting of test results, test analysis and reporting of findings.

In order to become a Full Member of ALTE, Trinity College London has satisfied the demanding criteria for ALTE membership and successfully completed a comprehensive audit of its Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE), Integrated Skills in English (ISE) and Certificates in ESOL Skills for Life (SfL) examinations.

Sarah Kemp, Trinity College London’s Chief Executive says, “It gives Trinity College London great pleasure to announce that it has duly and successfully completed the rigorous ALTE auditing procedure and is now officially a Full Member of ALTE. This further confirms the exceptional quality of our English language examinations and that we adhere to common standards of practice. We would like to thank ALTE and we look forward to working with our fellow members in the future.”
