International Playwriting Competition award ceremony in Australia

Trinity College London has held an award ceremony in Sydney for Runners Up and Most Promising Young Playwrights in the 2012 International Playwriting Competition.

The evening involved the award presentation along with a Q&A session with each playwright. The audience at the event on the 6 March included parents, friends and teachers, who came along to celebrate the achievements of these young playwrights.

Emma, Nina and Rebecca said, "winning the ‘Most Promising Playwright’ award is really encouraging. It’s always great to be reaffirmed that you show promise at something you’re passionate about."

Winners from Australia included

Natalia Savvides was awarded Runner Up in the category ‘Plays Suitable for Young Performers’ for her play Albert and Marleen.

Emma Cross, Nina Dillon-Britton and Rebecca Nash were awarded ‘Most Promising Young Playwrights’ in the category ‘Plays Suitable for Young Performers’ for their play Sin or Symptom.

Hanna Nash, Milly MacDonald and Brandii Woods were awarded ‘Most Promising Young Playwrights’ in the category ‘Plays Suitable for Teenage Audiences’ for their play The Lost Island.

The 2013 International Playwriting Competition opens on the 9 September. Register your interest.
