Entry opens internationally for new Trinity College London Rock & Pop exams

12 Mar 2012

Students in several countries around the world can now enter for Trinity’s new Rock & Pop exams. A brand new website was launched yesterday with a wide range of support resources. The website includes videos featuring professional musicians explaining and demonstrating some of the technical skills students will master as they learn the music in the syllabus, which ranges from the Rolling Stones to Rihanna. The music is available in new songbooks which include hints, tips, background information and a backing and demo track CD.

The news was celebrated at several events internationally. The first country to reveal the new website was New Zealand, at a showcase event for local teachers, students and musicians in Auckland. In the UK, the website was unveiled at musiclearninglive! 2012 and celebrated at a showcase event in London, where some of the music from the Rock & Pop syllabus was performed live. Singapore will be next to showcase the music live on 14th March, closely followed by Sri Lanka, who will host a showcase event in Colombo with local R&B singer Ashanthi.
