Chandini moved from a private marketing intelligence agency to in-house excellence, and here she tells us how she managed the transition as a Product Manager.

Product Managers are high in demand right now, particularly in London. Can you tell us a bit about the role of a Product Manager at Trinity?

As a Product Manager at Trinity, I focus on developing innovation products powered by machine learning and AI. I ensure these products address user needs and align with business objectives through discovery, close collaboration with development teams, and ongoing improvements.

We put the changing needs of our customers at the forefront. What are some of the considerations you think of as a Product Manager?

I focus on understanding user feedback and behaviour, staying informed on market trends, and ensuring our products align with business goals. Continuously enhancing the user experience and adapting to evolving user needs and future challenges is crucial to long-term success.

You came from a very different sector having most previously worked for a marketing intelligence firm. Tell us how you navigated the transition.

Yes, I’ve previously worked with a Marketing Intelligence firm and in the e-commerce industry. However, the products I focused on before joining Trinity were innovation-driven, leveraging ML models and AI technology. Although this is my first edtech product, my leadership has helped me quickly understand the unique aspects of edtech industry, and my background in innovation has been directly applicable in this new domain.

What advice would you give to people looking to change industries and exploring opportunities in other fields?

My advice would be to embrace the learning curve and remain adaptable. While changing industries can be challenging, it’s also a great opportunity to bring in fresh perspectives. Focus on leveraging transferable skills and committing to continuous learning. Embracing change can turn into a valuable learning experience that accelerates personal and professional growth.

One of the benefits we offer is paid volunteer leave. Can you tell us more about your involvement with mentoring Freshers and young professionals?

I’m passionate about mentoring young professionals aspiring to move into product management. I offer career guidance to recent graduates and those transitioning into the field, helping them understand their strengths and tailor their resumes. I also conduct mock interviews and provide personalized support based on their specific needs.

Why do you believe nurturing early-career professionals is so important?

Nurturing early-career professionals is crucial because they are the future of any industry. Investing in their growth not only helps them build a solid foundation for their careers but also fosters innovation and fresh perspectives within organizations. By providing guidance, mentorship, and the right resources, we empower them to reach their full potential, which ultimately benefits the entire industry.
