Achievement – outstanding or high achievement in their qualification results
An ability to demonstrate at least one of the following through the participation in their qualification. These will be evidenced through the nominator statement and copies of certificates, feedback etc as needed
- A high mark within their grade/level (equivalent to over 90%)
- Completing all grades or all levels of the qualification they have been doing.
- Outstanding feedback from their examiner/moderator
Creativity - originality, inventiveness, taking a creative approach to their qualification
An ability to demonstrate at least one of the following through the participation in their qualification. These will be evidenced through the nominator statement and evidence of the work produced if needed (eg through photos, copies of music etc). Please note we do not make judgment on the creative or artistic merits of any work produced so the nominator statement must make the case for this.
- Taken advantage of the opportunities presented by our qualifications to demonstrate creativity – for example by using improvisation options, devising own pieces/compositions, making new art work etc
- Showed originality/individuality/personality in their art form– for example by experimenting, trying new approaches/techniques to create art work, performances or projects.
Overcoming challenges - qualification success despite difficult circumstances or barriers to access
An ability to demonstrate at least one of the following through the participation in their qualification. These will be evidenced through the nominator statement.
- Overcome barriers that make accessing and completing qualifications more challenging – eg SEND, Physical disability, Neurodiversity, NEET etc
- Overcome challenges in the preparation of their qualification - eg a project not going as planned, having to change teachers, loss of instrument etc
- Overcome challenges in own life during preparation for a qualification – eg illness, bereavement etc
Personal development - personal learning or skills development via their exam/qualification
An ability to demonstrate at least one of the following through the participation in their qualification. These will be evidenced through the nominator statement which will need to make a strong case for why their personal development is particularly noteworthy.
- Significant development in their art form skills from their starting point (this could be from being completely new to their art form/instrument etc)
- Quick progress through levels or grades of the qualification route they are taking
- Strongly increased personal confidence in their art form or in the skills the qualification develop (eg could also be in communication or project management skills)
- Learning different skills in order to develop in their art form. Eg learning to improvise, tackling a new genre, style or technique
- Completion of Trinity qualifications has led to other progression/performance opportunities, eg supported an application to a conservatoire, led into work or work experience opportunities, support auditioning for significant performance/exhibition opportunities.
