You will receive an email showing your exam details – check your personal details, exam location, exam date and exam grade are correct.
If they are not correct, please call us on 0333 358 3183.
You will receive a second email, normally within an hour of registering, that confirms the exact time of your exam – please check your junk/spam folder in your email account for this if you cannot see it.

SELT exam at a Trinity test centre
SELT exam by home-based assessment - GESE Grade 5 (B1) only
Empty all of your personal belongings into a secure locker – this includes electrical items (phones, laptop, tablet, etc) which will also need to be turned off.
You are not allowed to have bags, mobile phones and other personal items in the exam whether you are taking your exam at one of our Trinity SELT centres or home-based.
Additional security checks (in centre) – your steward will check that you don’t have anything in your pockets, anything written on your hands or arms, anything in your ears and you must remove any hats or caps (unless worn for religious purposes).
Please note that CCTV is used at our exam centres for security purposes.
Additional security checks (home-based) - your registrar will complete the same additional security checks as above when taking a home-based assessment.
Your registrar will also complete a room sweep to ensure that your environment is free of any distractions.
Exam registration (in centre) – the registrar will take a passport-style photo of you and will check your ID and take a scan of it. You will also be asked to sign your signature.
Exam registration (home-based) – the registrar will take a passport-style photo of you and will check your ID matches the ID you registered with and used to complete your ID verification with before the exam day. The ID you have on the exam day must be the same ID that you used to register.
In centre – you will be taken to the test by your steward.
Home-based – the registrar will admit the examiner into the meeting room and your exam will begin after the registrar has left the meeting room.

In-centre - after the test you will be met by your steward who will explain how to get information about your certificate and results, as well as the different delivery options available.
Home-based – your registrar will inform you before the test how your results will be sent and how to get other information about the different delivery options available.
Once your results are confirmed, if you have passed, your certificate will be sent usually within 7 days.
