Enquiries about results

In the first instance please contact your Registered Exam Centre or Trinity representative for all enquiries about exam results. Most issues can be resolved in this way.

If you have already contacted your exam centre or representative, and you now wish to make a formal enquiry about the result of an exam, please complete the enquiries about results form and read our terms and conditions.

You must do this within 12 weeks of receiving the exam result.

You will need to provide contact details, details of the exam you are enquiring about, and whether you would like to request:

  • a clerical check or
  • a results review or
  • a re-mark.

If you are a centre or teacher and wish to apply on behalf of a group of more than 5 candidates from the same exam session, please contact us at resultsreview@trinitycollege.com.

Clerical check

Available for all exams.

Service
We will check that the marks given have been entered correctly on Trinity’s system and that they match the result awarded.

Fee
The fee depends on which exam is being reviewed - please see the 2017 fee schedule.

Timescale
We will let you know that we have received your request within 3 working days from receipt of your completed form. Clerical checks will be resolved within 10 working days* from receipt of your completed enquiries about results form and the correct payment.

Outcome
Any errors identified will be corrected. If a correction is made the fee will be refunded.

Results review

Available for performance-based exams of up to 5 candidates

Service
A senior examiner will review the assessment made by the original examiner using all the available evidence, including the report form, the recording of the exam and feedback from the original examiner/moderator. We will also conduct a clerical check.

Fee
The fee depends on which exam is being reviewed - please see the 2017 fee schedule.

Timescale
We will let you know that we have received your request within 3 working days from receipt of your completed form. Results reviews will be resolved within 30 working days* from receipt of your completed enquiries about results form, payment and any supporting documents (such as report forms, if required).

Outcome
For music and drama graded exams and diplomas, the marks given may be adjusted up or down, or they may stay the same. If the marks change such that a higher band is awarded, or a free re-sit is offered, the fee will be refunded. For other exams, where the senior examiner considers the concerns to be justified, a free re-sit will be offered and the fee will be refunded.

Re-mark

Available for written exams of up to 5 candidates

Service

Exam scripts, submitted materials and/or portfolios will be re-marked by a senior examiner/moderator and the results confirmed. We will also conduct a clerical check.

The fee depends on which exam is being re-marked. Please see the 2017 fee schedule.

Timescale
We will let you know that we have received your request within 3 working days from receipt of your completed form. Re-marks will be resolved within 30 working days* from receipt completed enquiries about results form and payment.

You do not need to pay the fee until we ask you to. We will check your form and then let you know how much to pay, and how. Please see the 2017 fee schedule.

Appeals

If you are not happy with the outcome of a results review or re-mark, you can appeal against it. See the appeals page for more information.
