Assessment criteria for ISE IV

At ISE IV (C2), Performance descriptors are used for the assessment of all tasks within the Portfolio, Controlled Written exam and Interview.

Examiners and markers use the performance descriptors in combination with the specific requirements of ISE IV when making their assessments.

You can download the performance descriptors for each component of the ISE IV exam by clicking on the links below.

All results are collected and the overall result is calculated and checked.

Read more about the assessment of ISE IV in the ISE IV Exam information booklet.

Results and certificates

After the exam, successful ISE IV candidates receive a certificate showing the level of pass achieved in both ‘Reading and Writing’ and ‘Speaking and Listening’. Certificates are sent to centres and normally arrive within six to eight weeks of the completion of all components. (Note: ISE IV candidates do not receive diagnostic profile reports.)
