These exams are designed to encourage individuality and creativity. Uniquely, we do not prescribe content, these exams allow candidates and teachers to choose from a wide range of options, focusing on any relevant literary, dramatic, communicative, performance or musical theatre forms in which they have a particular interest or that complement their studies. Exams present candidates with practical, creative tasks that prepare them for situations in both education and the workplace, enabling them to develop invaluable 21st century skills.

Candidates for solo and pair exams undertake various tasks that enable them to display supporting skills such as sight reading, storytelling and improvisation.

Group exams

Depending on the subject, in group drama exams candidates may present scenes of plays, develop and devise their own scenes through improvisation, give performances of acting, singing and movement or offer multi-skilled performance programmes.
