New Record & Review feature launched in the Play Trinity Rock & Pop app

1 December 2018

Today sees the exciting update of Trinity College London’s award-winning music practice app, Play Trinity Rock & Pop, with a new Record & Review feature.

Musicians using the app can now prepare for their next big performance by recording their own part into the mix of their chosen Rock & Pop exam songs, and playing them back to review.

Speaking about the new feature, Trinity’s Director of Product Design & Development, Tom Lee, said: ‘We’re excited to bring our learners and teachers more innovative ways of engaging with all the fantastic songs in our Rock & Pop syllabuses. As well as supporting lessons, practice, and exam preparation, the new Record & Review feature gives our Rock & Pop musicians the opportunity to start experimenting with music production techniques, reflecting Trinity’s aim to support learners' creative engagement with music’.

The new Record & Review feature allows users to:

  • Be a performer on the songs they choose by recording with our Rock & Pop session musicians
  • Practise at home and bring a recording of their progress to their next lesson to review with their teacher
  • Listen to their performance and identify any areas that can be finessed before their exam
  • Work on delivering a full performance of a song without stopping, and listen back to see how they’re progressing
  • Experiment with recording processes by playing or singing over multiple instrument channels to make a song their own
